The Jack Vu Mystery series came about when I met a Vietnamese man I had the honor of serving with in the Air Force. His amazing story of his escape from an internment camp in Vietnam after the fall of Saigon when he was just a teenager moved me deeply. I knew I had to tell it….
Since I knew something about the investigative branch of the Air Force, the Office of Special Investigations (OSI), I put him to work there. The first book titled: The Killer Coin dives into my friend’s background through the eyes of Jack Vu. Jack’s a hybrid detective who has a unique take on life. Being Buddhist he sees things differently. He’s a man who bends rules and solves crime through the eyes of an Asian – all the while trying to stay out of harm’s way with his commanding officer. Jack has a love interest too – a pathologist who works for the New Orleans police department. Betty likes to mingle in his affairs and has a thing for dead bodies. They make her hot. It’s an interesting relationship.
Four books have been published in the Jack Vu series. The fifth is on its way. It should be out in 2015.
I hope you enjoy the series. Feel free to let me know what you think.
Happy reading.
