Questions to writers vary from the mundane to the bizarre. The usual questions typically follow along the lines of writing. A few are listed below. But every once in a while you get one from a fan or someone you meet at a party that brings a smile to your face. I though I’d share a few of both:
1.) Where do you get your ideas?
2.) How do you do research?
3.) Was your book based on personal experience?
4.) How did you develop your characters and are they based on somebody you know?
And then there are these, less about writing and more about intrigue, that are a nice surprise…
1. ) Who is the most famous person you have met through writing?
2.) Did you really have sex like you described in your books?
3.) If I paid you, would you put me in one of your books?
4.) I’d make a good villain would you like to know why?
Questions are what lead us on to create works of fiction. We ask them of ourselves daily to develop plots, characters, settings, and themes. By probing our responses to questions asked and questions we ask ourselves we expand our experiences and reveal a little of the mystery that lies within us all. I’m in pursuit of an interesting question since I’ve finished a rough draft of a sequel to River City last week.
What shall I do now?
